A sandwich that smells of taste and creativity: bread with Tagliofresco Citterio Mortadella, squacquerone cheese, and pistachio pesto is an explosion of flavors, combining softness, creaminess, and aromatic notes. Perfect for a quick yet refined lunch, an outdoor picnic, or a gourmet idea to share.

Ingredients:

2 soft rolls such as ciabatta, focaccia, or rosetta
100 g Tagliofresco Mortadella Citterio
100 g Squacquerone cheese
2 tablespoons pistachio pesto

Preparation

Cut the sandwiches in half and, if you like, lightly toast them on a griddle or in the oven to make them crispier.
Spread the squacquerone generously on the bottom of the sandwich. If it’s too firm, soften it first with a teaspoon.

Spoon a tablespoon of pistachio pesto over the squacquerone, spreading it evenly.
Add the slices of Tagliofresco Citterio Mortadella and, if you like, a few arugula leaves. A grind of black pepper to enhance the flavor, then close the sandwich.
Serve immediately, accompanied by crispy chips or a fresh salad for a complete and tasty meal.
